With the available breeding
techniques, it is possible for us to select a
quality foundation bitch and improve the quality
of our breeding stock. However, no breeding theory
will provide you with a silver bullet or a magic
formula. The reality is, no breed theory in the
world has all the answers. Breeders
need to select a bitch with correct movement,
structure and temperament for breeding, but not
just applying a breeding theory to your breeding
program. Without thoroughly understanding the
bitch’s strengths and weaknesses in phenotype and
genotype, breeding theories will not mean much to
your breeding plan.
No matter which breeding theory you choose to
follow, always remember, "Paper doesn't breed
quality."
“Information
is not knowledge” –
Albert Einstein
The
above article is just for information and is drawn
from my own personal experience. In order to
become knowledgeable, you need to further analyze,
collect, research, study and select the correct
information, and then apply that information to
your own experiences. At all times, breeders
should learn from their mistakes and review the
outcomes after each breeding is done. Such
experience will increase your knowledge. Breeding
processes should be a
cycle of continuous improvement.
I hope that everyone will enjoy the sharing of the
knowledge I have gained.
